Close to the wild white sandy shores of the Cape, surrounded by the neighbouring fertile rolling hills, full of fruit trees, onion fields, prickly pears, bougainvillèe, broom, jasmine and other Mediterranean plants, lies the bay of Santa Maria, an old fishing village which reclines gently on to the sea.
